Stainless Steel 317 Tubing is an austenitic chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel alloy that boasts a higher molybdenum content (3–4%) compared to the 316 grade. Its typical composition includes 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, and 0.08% carbon, which enhances its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. This material showcases impressive mechanical properties, with a tensile strength of around 515 MPa and a yield strength close to 205 MPa. It also offers excellent creep resistance, good formability, and durability even at high temperatures, making it perfect for demanding industrial applications.
Stainless Steel 317 Tubing is a molybdenum-containing austenitic stainless steel alloy containing 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, and 3–4% molybdenum. The higher content of molybdenum offers improved resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and general corrosion, particularly in acidic and chloride-containing environments. The tubing possesses tensile strength ranging from 515–760 MPa and yield strength of around 205 MPa. It also possesses good mechanical properties at higher temperatures and is ideal for forming, welding, and fabricating under harsh service conditions.
